Nailpolish

If you love the look of a perfectly manicured set of nails, there is no doubt that you are familiar with the nail polish brand essie (spelled with a lower case “e”).

I have never had a manicure and I rarely do my nails. My worse bad habit is that I bite my nails on occasion.

My teenager daughter on the other hand is obsessed with her nails. She gets them professionally manicured every other week. In between she will pain her own nails.

Her favorite brand of nail polish is essie. She goes crazy over the new colors they introduce throughout the year. I have to admit, if I did my nails I would go crazy for some of the essie colors too. They are beautiful!

My daughter has amassed a large collection of essie colors. Some of my personal favorites are called “Play Date,” “DJ Play That Song,” “The More the Merrier,” and “Rock the Boat.” I love their fun names.

Essie is celebrating their 35th anniversary. They are celebrating it “Vegas style” in honor of the ultimate party town where their brand began. The brand has opened up their legendary essie color archive by giving fans a glimpse into the brand’s dazzling history with a limited edition collection of six iconic shades that promise you a “sparkling night of thrills.”

They even re-released one of their all time best selling colors – Starry, Starry Night. This color is actually selling for crazy amounts on Ebay.

In addition, the caps for this limited edition collection will feature gold starbursts. They really give the classic essie bottles a lot of pizzazz.

The limited edition colors went on sale this month (January 2016). They have a retail price of $8.50 per bottle. You can find them at essie.com, fine salons and beauty destinations nationwide.

The colors available in this limited edition collection include;

Starry Starry Night

Starry, Starry Night (1985) – Twinkling midnight blue.

Life of the Party

Life of the Party (2002) – Pinot noir pearl.

Sequin Sash

Sequin Sash (2005) – Sheer glittery bronze.

Cabana Boy

Cabana Boy (2005) -Ultra cool party white.

Bikini with a Martini

Bikini with a Martini (2006) – Frosted iridescent pink.

Birthday Suit

Birthday Suit (1981 – ) – One of essie’s original 12 shades – a cheeky, delicate nude.

All of the colors are beautiful. I can see why Starry, Starry Night is so popular. It doesn’t look like much in the bottle but when you swipe it on your nails it looks amazing. I don’t normally like dark colors, but this is one of the exceptions. It’s really sparkly, but without looking tacky or gaudy. I can see where it gets its lovely name.

Sequin Sash is lovely too. It also has a nice shimmer to it.

I’m not exaggerating when I say this collection has inspired me to stop biting my nails. I know I should anyway, but I would really like to take advantage of these beautiful colors.

For the time being my daughter has been enjoying them. I’m jealous! She’s over the moon about them. They are beautiful!
